Polycrystalline Diamond Compact (PDC) Hole Opener

E-Pulse eliminates Splicing
Conventional steering tools require a wireline connection from surface to the bottom of the hole, where the signal is being transmitted (from the survey tool). This means that wire connections must be made on every joint while the tool is being run in or out of the hole to maintain communication while drilling.
The new E-Pulse guidance system tracks tool location through magnetic pulse interference, eliminating the need for wire splicing, reducing connection time by an average of 21%. The E-Pulse surveys are completed during joint connection.
